Maintaining Healthy Teeth and Mouth

Oral and dental health is very dependent on what we eat. Some foods can accelerate the growth of Teeth destructive bacteria. Bacteria is a major role for poor oral health and tooth decay. Eat foods with lots of sugar and can lead to poor oral health. When we eat sweet foods, bacteria in the mouth convert sugar into acid. Acid is harmful to the enamel and can cause tooth decay. Therefore, if the tooth exposed to acid, it would be bad for dental health.

Nutrition and healthy food is essential for good oral health.
For the development and protection of the gums and teeth, it is necessary to regulate what we eat. Eat candy, especially hard candy (which dissolves slowly) with lots of sugar and sweetened soda is very harmful to teeth. On the other hand, eating a healthy diet is good for oral health. In fact, tooth decay and gum disease can be prevented by eating healthy foods. Thus, a good diet is essential for good oral health. It is important to not eat snacks or sugary foods too often and too much. Some experts say there should be an interval of at least two to three hours between the two foods that contain high amounts of sugar. This gives the teeth and gums to recover from the damage done by acid. Also, brush your teeth after eating sweet foods were good for maintaining oral health.

As we know that we can not eliminate sugary foods from our diet completely. That's why we better take some steps to maintain oral health. There are some foods that are good for teeth. Vitamins has an important role to maintain healthy gums. Vitamin A deficiency can be responsible for the enamel weak and underdeveloped. Riboflavin deficiency can lead to inflammation of the tongue, gums and chapped lips. Vitamin C makes the gums strong and healthy and vitamin K help prevent bleeding.
Calcium is essential for maintaining strong teeth. Through the process of calcification that make teeth healthy and strong. Catechins help to kill bacteria and prevent cavities. Catechins can also reduce bad breath.

Some things are very good for oral health is green tea (rich in catechins), cheese (high calcium), raw vegetables, fresh fruits, parsley, sesame seeds (high calcium), garlic (an antibacterial sulfur-containing compounds) and water. Water is important for rinsing the mouth and  gums moisturize. It also stimulates saliva that neutralizes acids in the mouth.

Choose your daily snacks wisely, eating more nutritious foods such as yogurt, cabbage, milk, wheat crackers, raw vegetables and fresh fruits.

To maintain good dental and oral health, it is necessary to visit the dentist regularly, ideally twice a year.
